Residents of several villages in Erbil gathered on Monday to protest the lack of basic services, saying the outgoing government has failed to pay attention to their needs and that their villages have been neglected.
Residents of Sardar village told NRT that local authorities began rebuilding the village’s streets more than six months ago but left the work incomplete, leaving the roads in ruins.
"Another problem in our village is the lack of schools، students still study in temporary cabins, and even the mosque has not been completed,” one resident said.
