The Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) has emphasized that all voters must bring an official identity card in addition to their voting card in order to cast their ballots in today’s Iraqi parliamentary elections, taking place across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
According to the commission, voting will continue until 6 p.m. and will not be extended beyond that time.
The IHEC also reported that more than 20 million citizens are eligible to vote nationwide, including four million voters in the Kurdistan Region.
Meanwhile, the commission added that until 4 p.m. today, citizens can still visit their designated polling stations numbering 173 stations to collect their voting cards and take part in the election process.
