The distribution of August salaries began today, leading to large crowds outside banks as many pensioners reported waiting in line since 6 a.m.
According to the Ministry of Finance, salaries for employees of the Ministries of Education, Finance, and Financial Supervision, as well as civilian pensioners and families of martyrs and Anfal victims, are being distributed today.
The salaries of Peshmerga pensioners, the disabled, and employees of the Ministries of Reconstruction, Health, Interior, Justice, Planning, and the Judicial Council will be distributed tomorrow. On Wednesday, payments will continue for the Ministries of Social Affairs, Culture, Electricity, Endowment, and Higher Education, as well as the three presidencies, Peshmerga forces, Units 70 and 80, and the Oil Police.
This marks the final salary distribution before the elections, while the outgoing government’s previous statement linking oil deliveries to a three-month election period has left the fate of several remaining salaries uncertain.
