The Iraqi Council of Ministers is scheduled to meet today to review committee reports on oil exports and non-oil revenues, a source told NRT on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has demanded the immediate resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, but the outgoing KRG cabinet has so far failed to comply with agreements, refusing to hand over oil and delaying the transfer of non-oil revenues.
According to the source, the outgoing government is pressuring Baghdad to release one or two more months of salaries ahead of elections. However, the failure to implement agreements has left the fate of six upcoming salaries uncertain.
