Iraq’s non-oil revenues have seen significant growth due to recent reforms, reaching 7.18 trillion dinars last year, according to the prime minister’s adviser for economic and financial affairs.
Mazhar Mohammed Saleh said on Tuesday that non-oil revenues increased from 420 billion dinars in the first half of 2023 to 7.18 trillion dinars in 2024. He attributed the rise to reforms aimed at expanding the tax base, digital management, and the introduction of electronic payment systems.
He added that under the three-year general budget law, the share of non-oil revenues has grown to 20 percent, which represents a major step toward reducing dependence on oil and strengthening partnerships with the private sector.
