Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir, leader of the New Generation Movement, on Tuesday called for what he described as a "mass uprising against the ballot boxes,” urging citizens to turn out and vote as an act of revenge against years of "injustice and oppression.”
Abdulwahid said that the people of the Kurdistan Region should use their votes to hold the ruling authorities accountable rather than abstain from the election.
"Today, citizens are taking revenge on all injustice and oppression, and not going to vote is the best gift for the authorities,” he said. "Not going to vote in the past has made the authorities shameless towards the people.”
