Sipan Amedi, a member of the Kurdistan Parliament representing the New Generation Movement, said Tuesday that today marks a historic day for the people of the Kurdistan Region to "take revenge on the authorities and elect their true representatives.”
Amedi noted that this is the first election in which New Generation leader Shaswar Abdulwahid is in prison, adding that "the people of the region will not forget him.”
Meanwhile, Kawa Abdulqadir, leader of the New Generation list in Erbil, urged citizens not to miss the opportunity to vote and to be part of the process of change.
Today marks the general election day in the Kurdistan Region, which many view as a decisive moment for voters to hold the ruling parties, the PUK and KDP accountable for decades of mismanagement and injustice.
