The Iraqi Ministry of Justice announced Wednesday that more than 10,000 prisoners have been released since the implementation of the general amnesty law.
Justice Ministry spokesman Ahmad Luaibi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the total number of released prisoners has reached 10,213.
He added that an additional 2,780 inmates were released through other legal decisions, including sentence completion, parole, or retrial.
Luaibi emphasized that individuals convicted in the Spiker massacre case are not included in the amnesty law.
