The Iraqi Council of Ministers has decided to pay ballot box employees amounts ranging between 150,000 and 400,000 dinars, while reserve employees will be paid 100,000 dinars.

During its Tuesday meeting, the Council of Ministers approved payments for 300,000 employees who worked at polling stations across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Previously, the Election Commission announced that payments vary by duty: polling station supervisors receive 400,000 dinars, station managers 300,000 dinars, and ballot box employees 200,000 dinars.

For the sixth session of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, 34,000 people from the Kurdistan Region were selected as ballot box employees, with an additional 5% about 1,700 people serving as reserves across Erbil, Sulaimanyah, and Duhok.

According to the Cabinet’s decision, employees will not be required to hold bank cards to receive their payments; the funds will be distributed through banks as in previous years.
