Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) spokesman Peshawa Hawrami warned on Thursday, September 11, 2025, that the region will consider "other possibilities and ways” if no agreement is reached with Baghdad over the federal budget.
Hawrami said the Kurdistan Region has fulfilled its obligations, yet the Iraqi government has not sent the agreed budget share. He stressed that Erbil is ready to hand over revenues in line with the law, but warned that the KRG will not accept humiliation in the ongoing disputes with Baghdad.
He added that the KRG continues to seek an agreement with the Iraqi federal government, expressing that "our intention is to resolve the problems,” but left the door open for alternative options if negotiations fail.
