The Iraqi Ministry of Transport and Communications announced on Wednesday that international internet speeds in Iraq have increased more than threefold over the past two years, while communication prices have become more affordable.
According to the ministry, internet speeds rose from 1.7 terabytes per second to 5.26 terabytes per second by the end of 2024 — an annual growth rate of 32.5%, based on the latest data from the International Telecommunications Union.
The ministry attributed this achievement to the efforts of the Minister of Communications over the past two years under the service-oriented government. It also reaffirmed its commitment to advancing infrastructure and continuing the development of modern communication systems
