The head of the Iraqi Corruption Commission, Mohammed Ali Lami, announced on Tuesday that strict legal measures will be taken against any violations of election laws during the upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for November 11.
Speaking at a press conference, Lami emphasized that all candidates must disclose the sources of their campaign funding with documented evidence. He warned that the misuse of state or government funds for election campaigns will not be tolerated.
The Commission has also launched a hotline for citizens to report any attempts of vote-buying, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring free and fair elections.
