The Iraqi High Election Commission (HEC) announced on Monday that 668,651 people have so far filled out application forms to serve as polling station workers for the November parliamentary elections.
The commission noted that the deadline for submissions is July 9, and encouraged citizens interested in supporting the democratic process to apply before then.
Within the Kurdistan Region, 104,688 people have submitted forms, including 37,819 in Erbil, 38,740 in Sulaimani, and 28,069 in Duhok, reflecting strong participation from the region.
The HEC previously stated that, based on international standards, Iraq requires approximately 250,000 polling staff to carry out the elections efficiently and transparently.
Preparations continue ahead of the vote, which is seen as a key step in ensuring a fair and inclusive electoral process in the country.
