Shaswar Abdulwahid, leader of the New Generation Movement, strongly criticized the ruling political families in the Kurdistan Region, accusing them of corruption and responsibility for the region’s worsening economic conditions.

Shaswar Abdulwahid Qadir stated that the actions of the Barzani and Talabani families toward the people are "extremely immoral,” particularly as they control the region’s wealth yet fail to distribute it fairly. He emphasized that the ongoing delay in public sector salaries is a direct result of their governance.

Abdulwahid went on to hold both voters and non-voters accountable for the current state of affairs. "Those who voted for the KDP and PUK and those who did not participate in the elections are the cause of this bad situation,” he said.

He stressed that the only viable solution lies in active citizen participation in future elections. "If we do not succeed this time, the situation of the citizens will be 10 times worse,” he warned.

Abdulwahid called on the public to either take to the streets in mass protests or use the power of their vote to bring about real change. "The solution to this situation is in the hands of the citizens—either they fight an armed struggle, which we do not believe in, or they demonstrate, or they go for 10 minutes to vote and change this system.”
