The New Generation Movement faction in the Kurdistan Parliament has strongly opposed the recent increase in electricity prices, describing the decision by the ruling government as a form of exploitation of the people.

In an official statement, the faction announced that it will take all possible legal measures to challenge the price hike. "We consider this a trade on the suffering of the nation, and we will not remain silent," the statement read.

The faction emphasized that electricity prices have surged to nearly 20 times their previous rate, calling the rise unjustified and burdensome on citizens. They pledged to apply pressure both within parliament and through public mobilization in the streets to reverse the decision.

The New Generation Movement reiterated its commitment to defending the rights of the people and holding the executive government accountable for policies that harm the public.
