SULAIMANI —
A two-year-old girl in Bingol, Turkey killed a snake by biting it to death
after the animal attacked her, Newsweek magazine said on Monday (August 15).
On August
10, neighbors responded to the sound of the child screaming from her backyard
in the village of Kantar in Bingol.
She was
discovered with a 20-inch snake that she had bitten to death, and neighbors
observed a bite-mark from the snake on her lip.
Mehmet
Ercan, the girl’s father, said his neighbors informed him she had been playing
with the snake in her hand when it bit her.
The child
was taken to a hospital in Bingol where she was recovering from her injuries,
and it is considered unlikely the snake that bit her was one of the 12 venomous
species present in Turkey.
