Srwa Abdulwahid, head of the New Generation Movement in the Iraqi Parliament, has strongly criticized recent statements by Pavel Talabani regarding the presence of opposition parties in Sulaymaniyah, describing them as misleading and far from reality.
Abdulwahid said in a post on X that Talabani speaks of the presence of opposition parties "as if it were a democratic achievement,” while ignoring the fact that "the head of the largest opposition party in the region and the third political force has been arrested.”
She added, "What democracy are you talking about when you are immersed in interfering in the work of the judiciary and fabricating files to liquidate your opponents?”
Abdulwahid also criticized Arab parties for supporting Talabani’s remarks, saying that their stance amounts to "applauding and legitimizing oppression instead of standing with the truth.”
