The outgoing Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Sunday that political prisoners will be allowed to remain in service until they reach the retirement age of 65 years.
According to the decision, the policy will cover all political prisoners classified under categories 9 to 15 of the service system, and their salaries will be paid from the budgets of their ministries.
The KRG emphasized that the decision ensures continuity of employment and financial stability for political prisoners working within government institutions.
