Relatives of victims of the Anfal campaign say that funds have been allocated by the Iraqi Ministry of Justice for the examination of victims’ bodies in Baghdad, following a formal request from the New Generation faction in Parliament.
On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Taymour Anfal, a family member of Anfal victims, told NRT that the Justice Ministry released the funds after the faction’s appeal. He added that when rumors emerged that the money had gone missing, the families immediately demanded clarity from the ministry regarding its status.
"We, as relatives of Anfal victims, thank the MP and the New Generation faction for their efforts,” he said, expressing gratitude for their commitment to resolving the issue.
Anfal also criticized the PUK and KDP factions, accusing them of neglecting the plight of Anfal victims and their families, and failing to prioritize the examination and burial of the victims' remains.
