The Ministry of Health of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) has confirmed a case of dengue fever in Erbil, involving a 27-year-old citizen from Ba’aj in Mosul province. The individual, who showed symptoms before arriving in Erbil, is currently under intensive medical care.
Authorities urged citizens to adhere strictly to public health guidelines, especially those in contact with animals or animal products. The ministry emphasized the importance of immediately reporting any suspected symptoms to veterinary or health teams.
According to officials, only two cases of dengue fever have been confirmed in the Kurdistan Region over the past month following multiple suspected cases. One patient in Duhok died last week due to severe complications, while the other has fully recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
