Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday emphasized the importance of the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad as a platform to build a brighter future through Arab unity and collective action, particularly in addressing the Palestinian crisis.
He warned that the Palestinian cause is facing its most dangerous phase, with hunger, deprivation, and the displacement of two million people in Gaza amid ongoing destruction. Sisi highlighted Egypt’s coordinated efforts with Qatar and the United States to reach a ceasefire and allow humanitarian aid into the Strip. He also called on U.S. President Donald Trump to play a mediating role in ending the conflict and promoting a lasting peace process.
Sisi arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday and was received by Iraqi President Fuad Hussein.
