Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani affirmed during the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad that the interests of the Iraqi people remain his top priority. He emphasized Iraq’s commitment to resolving regional conflicts and supporting the territorial integrity of Syria.
Sudani also called on Arab countries to take responsibility for the Palestinian cause, stating that the suffering of the Palestinian people must not continue due to ongoing conflict.
Meanwhile, the second main session of the 5th Arab Development Summit will be held today. The session will open with a speech by Lebanon, the outgoing presidency, followed by the handover of the summit leadership to Iraq. The summit will conclude with speeches by the current and next summit presidencies, followed by a joint press conference by Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The Iraqi government has finalized all necessary security and technical preparations to host Arab leaders and officials.
