The executive government is expected to hold a long-awaited meeting today to finalize the price of high-tariff electricity after weeks of delay, a government source told NRT.

The source said the meeting will address two key issues, with the primary focus on determining the official tariff for electricity supplied under the "expensive electricity" system.

A special committee was previously formed to assess public sentiment in areas where the high-tariff electricity is being implemented. The committee has submitted its findings to the Ministry of Electricity, which will present the report at today's meeting.

According to the source, the government is considering a price floor, with proposals suggesting that the cost should not fall below 100 Iraqi dinars per kilowatt.

Earlier government estimates put the average price at around 200 dinars per kilowatt, meaning households could face monthly bills exceeding 200,000 dinars.
