Dana Gas, the Middle East’s largest regional private sector natural gas company, has announced robust oil and gas production figures in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for the first quarter of 2025.
According to a statement released by the company, daily gas output from the Khor Mor field has reached 525 million standard cubic feet — marking a 75% increase compared to 2017 levels. The field, operated in partnership with Crescent Petroleum, has now produced a cumulative 500 million barrels of oil since operations began in 2008.
Khor Mor continues to play a critical role in the region’s energy supply, providing over 75% of Kurdistan’s electricity generation requirements.
In April, output levels were temporarily reduced due to planned maintenance work, which the company says will ensure the facility’s long-term reliability. This dip is expected to be reflected in Dana Gas’s second-quarter revenue.
Meanwhile, the company confirmed that construction of the KM250 expansion project is progressing rapidly. Once completed in the first quarter of 2026, the project will add 250 million standard cubic feet per day of processing capacity — a 50% boost to Pearl Petroleum’s total output, significantly enhancing Dana Gas’s financial performance.
The expansion underscores the company’s ongoing commitment to meeting the growing energy needs of the Kurdistan Region and strengthening its long-term investments in Iraq.
