The fourth round of negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding Iran’s nuclear program is scheduled to take place today in Oman, according to a senior Iranian official.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, criticized the structure of the talks, describing them as "a trap to drag the region into further tension." He accused Washington of creating deliberate gaps between negotiation rounds, which he claimed hinder progress and increase regional instability.

He further stated that the United States is not engaging in substantive political or technical dialogue, and its responses are "brief and general," often ignoring Iran's key proposals. The Iranian official emphasized that Tehran does not support the continuation of intermittent negotiations.

In response, US Special Envoy to Iran Steve Whitkoff warned in a televised interview that the United States would abandon the talks if today's discussions failed to yield progress.
