SULAIMANI — Iraq has ceased crude oil exports from the
Kurdistan Region after winning an arbitration case against Turkey, Reuters said
on Saturday (March 25).
Ships at Turkey’s Mediterranean Ceyhan port will not be
permitted to load crude oil from the Kurdistan Region and Turkey has ceased
pumping crude from the Ceyhan pipeline, according officials and documents cited
by Reuters.
The case centered on oil exports from the Kurdistan Region
and the Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Saturday the International Chamber of
Commerce’s Court of Arbitration ruled in Iraq’s favor.
Iraq has also stopped pumping oil through its pipeline from
northern Kirkuk fields.
