SULAIMANI — Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced 82
Iraqi citizens from Tukey’s damaged earthquake areas will return to Iraq.
The ministry spokesperson, Ahmed al-Sahhaf, said on Sunday
(March 5) that the Iraqi citizens will return through land transportation.
He added, the ministry will continue to provide aid to Iraqi
citizens in Turkey.
On February 6, a powerful earthquake hit both Turkey and
Syria, killing more than 45,000 people in Turkey and killing 5,900 in Syria.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been injured, and since then, several
Iraqi citizens have remained in Turkey, unable to return to Iraq.
