An Iraqi government delegation led by National Security Advisor Qassim al-Araaji arrived in Erbil on Monday to investigate a series of drone attacks that have recently targeted areas in the Kurdistan Region. An official source confirmed the visit to NRT, stating that the delegation will examine the impact of drone strikes, particularly on oil facilities.
The investigation comes after two drones crashed in different locations in Erbil province and another in the village of Hiawa in Kirkuk’s Hawija district earlier this morning. Although no casualties have been reported, the incidents have raised alarms over security threats to vital infrastructure in the region.
The delegation's visit underscores the central government's concern over escalating aerial threats in the northern provinces and the need for joint security coordination between Baghdad and Erbil.
