Lawyer and forensic investigator Shuan Mustafa said he was physically assaulted and threatened with death by security forces on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, after posting criticism of the outgoing Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on social media.
In a video shared on his personal accounts, Mustafa claimed that several vehicles intercepted him, and he was beaten and warned not to speak out again. "They told me, ‘If you speak again, we will kill you,’” he said. Sources suggest the attack was retaliation for his recent online posts criticizing the authorities.
