The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with the federal government in Baghdad to hand over 120 billion dinars in domestic revenue and 230,000 barrels of oil per day, in exchange for the release of delayed salaries and financial entitlements.
According to a statement following the outgoing government’s meeting, the agreement outlines the implementation of constitutional obligations, which Baghdad will reciprocate by resuming the disbursement of public sector salaries. The KRG has not received salaries for the past 80 days, largely due to its earlier non-compliance with oil and revenue commitments.
The outgoing cabinet confirmed it is now committed to fully implementing the terms of the new agreement presented during negotiations in Baghdad on Tuesday.
