The director of the Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) Erbil branch announced on Thursday that over 32,000 voters have so far received their biometric voter cards, including 15,000 citizens born in 2007.
With less than 10 days remaining to issue or renew biometric cards, the Commission is urging eligible citizens to visit registration centers to complete the process. The director noted that 27,000 fingerprint-related issues have already been resolved across the region.
He added that 173 registration centers are operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will remain open on Fridays and official holidays to accommodate citizens. The Commission emphasized that biometric voter cards are mandatory for participation in the upcoming elections.
