SULAIMANI — Iraq has ceased crude oil exports from the Kurdistan Region after winning an arbitration case against Turkey, Reuters said on Saturday (March 25).

Ships at Turkey’s Mediterranean Ceyhan port will not be permitted to load crude oil from the Kurdistan Region and Turkey has ceased pumping crude from the Ceyhan pipeline, according officials and documents cited by Reuters.

The case centered on oil exports from the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Saturday the International Chamber of Commerce’s Court of Arbitration ruled in Iraq’s favor.

Iraq has also stopped pumping oil through its pipeline from northern Kirkuk fields.
