The Erbil police directorate is undergoing a leadership shake-up, with current police director Shuan Arab set to be removed from his position and replaced by Kamil Mohammed.
A source within the Erbil police directorate told NRT on Thursday that the decision will be implemented today, marking a significant change in the city’s security management. The source added that the reshuffle will not be limited to the police director’s role, as other posts within the Erbil security apparatus are also expected to change.
No official statement has been issued regarding the reasons for the leadership changes.
