Two drone bombs crashed in the Khurmala oil field in the Kurdistan Region on July 14, 2025. No casualties have been reported, while the extent of the damage remains unknown.


Two drone bombs crashed inside the Khurmala oil field, owned by the KAR Group, in the southern part of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Monday, July 14, 2025, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Counter-Terrorism Unit.


The statement confirmed that there were no casualties resulting from the incident. However, the full extent of the material damage is still under investigation.


A source within the oil field told NRT that one of the drones went down near the facility’s water station, but did not provide further details about the impact.


The incident marks the latest in a series of drone-related security threats targeting strategic infrastructure across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
