The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) reported on Saturday, August 30, 2025, that a new case of dengue fever has been confirmed in Duhok province. The patient, a 43-year-old butcher from Simel, was hospitalized after showing symptoms linked to contact with infected animals. His condition is stable and he remains under medical supervision.
Health authorities urged citizens to follow Ministry of Health guidelines and to promptly notify veterinary teams if animals show signs of illness. Residents exposed to animals or animal products have also been advised to seek medical attention if they notice any symptoms.
According to official data, nine suspected dengue fever cases have so far been confirmed in the Kurdistan Region, with two deaths reported while the remaining patients have recovered.
