A six-year-old boy tragically drowned in the Choman River in the Balakaity area of Soran on Saturday, June 14, 2025, according to the Soran Civil Defense Directorate.
Karwan Mirawdali, director of the Civil Defense, told NRT that the boy was on a family trip when the incident occurred. His body was recovered one and a half kilometers downstream from the site of the drowning and was transported to Choman Hospital for medical examination.
