The Iraqi government has allocated 14 million Iraqi dinars for the issuance of national cards to 2,335 prisoners in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Director General of Corrections Ihsan Abdulrahman told INN on Thursday.
Abdulrahman said the allocation follows a decision by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who approved three billion dinars to support prisons and reform programs across Iraq.
He explained that the process of issuing national cards is being carried out in coordination with the Iraqi Ministries of Interior and Justice. The cost of issuing each national card is 6,000 Iraqi dinars.
