A person was killed in a residential estate in Erbil after being attacked by two individuals, police said.
According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, when the victim was assaulted by two suspects and thrown from a residential building. He was taken to hospital but died on arrival.
Police said the suspects were identified after approval from the Erbil Security Investigation Judge and in coordination with the Akre and Bardarash police directorates. The main suspect has been arrested, while the second suspect fled outside the Kurdistan Region and has not yet been arrested.
Legal action has been taken against the arrested suspect, and the investigation is ongoing.
