The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) are expected to meet on Tuesday to discuss the formation of a new cabinet, according to a senior PUK official.
Majid Hamademin, head of the PUK’s third headquarters, said on Saturday that ongoing efforts aim to reach an agreement on forming the next Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet.
He stated that if the PUK and KDP reach a final agreement, the Kurdistan Parliament will be reactivated and the process of forming a new government will begin.
Regarding differences between the two parties over the Interior Ministry post, Hamademin said there has recently been some flexibility and a softer stance from both sides.
