Dana Gas has confirmed that it will resume natural gas production as soon as possible, following intensive efforts by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to address the disruptions caused by the recent attack on the Kormor field.
In a statement on Saturday, the KRG Ministry of Electricity announced that a joint team from the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Electricity met with Dana Gas officials to resolve outstanding technical problems in the production system.
According to the ministry, most technical issues have now been resolved, paving the way for natural gas production to restart. The statement added that once production resumes, gas will be transferred directly to the power plants to restore electricity generation across the region.
The ministry emphasized that citizens will be informed immediately of any further developments or improvements in the supply of natural gas to power stations.
