The Iraqi Ministry of Planning announced on Saturday that both monthly and annual inflation rates have continued to decline across the country.
According to ministry spokesman Abdul Zahra Handawi, the overall inflation rate fell by 0.3% compared to the previous month. He noted that the decrease was largely influenced by a drop in prices within the real estate and housing sector, which recorded a 1% decline.
Handawi added that food and soft drink prices also decreased by 0.5%, further contributing to the downward trend. Other sectors, however, maintained their previous inflation levels without notable changes.
The ministry emphasized that the latest figures reflect increased market stability and improved price control mechanisms across key sectors of the economy. More detailed inflation indicators are expected to be released in the ministry’s upcoming monthly report.
