Jumana Ghalai, spokesperson for the Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC), announced on Sunday that the special voting process began this morning in all polling stations across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region without any reported problems.
She added that the voting is proceeding normally and that after the process concludes, the commission will release the final turnout report. The IHEC is also publishing interim reports throughout the day to track voter participation.
According to Ghalai, more than 1,000 international observers are monitoring the election process, visiting polling stations, and supervising the voting alongside a large number of local observers and representatives of political parties.
