In a press conference, the New Generation Movement accused the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of intentionally failing to distribute employee salaries, despite having sufficient financial resources.
The party said that the KRG’s refusal to pay salaries is due to its failure to comply with agreements made with the federal Iraqi government. They criticized the government’s handling of public funds and claimed it prioritizes political interests over citizens' needs.
According to the movement, the KRG has been providing 25,000 barrels of oil daily to a government company free of charge, a practice they described as "looting" public wealth. They stressed that revenue from domestic sources and border points is enough to pay salaries, yet those funds are not being used for that purpose.
The New Generation Movement urged the KRG to use its internal revenues to pay employees immediately and to stop what they called "financial and administrative manipulation” at the expense of the people.
