The Kurdistan Region is expected to host over 300,000 tourists during the current holiday season, surpassing previous tourist numbers during Ramadan, according to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Tourism Board.

Ibrahim Abdulmajid, the board’s spokesman, told NRT on Sunday that large numbers of visitors have already arrived from various parts of Iraq as well as other countries.

He emphasized that the region’s tourism infrastructure is prepared to accommodate the influx, and that the KRG continues to promote Kurdistan as a key destination for both domestic and international travelers.

"The tourist flow has started from early in the week, and we anticipate an even larger number of arrivals throughout the rest of the holidays,” Abdulmajid said.

The tourism sector remains one of the KRG’s priorities, with ongoing efforts to enhance facilities, improve services, and attract investment to support the growing demand.
