Iraq has been ranked as the second most angry country in the world and the angriest in the Arab world, according to the 2024 Global Emotions Report by the U.S.-based Gallup organization.
The survey, which measures emotional experiences across 100+ countries, places Iraq just behind Northern Cyprus in terms of reported anger levels. Following Iraq in the global rankings are Armenia, Jordan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Within the Arab world, Iraq leads the list, followed by Jordan, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates.
On the other end of the spectrum, the least angry countries included Vietnam, Finland, Estonia, Portugal, and Mexico, where respondents reported significantly lower levels of anger in daily life.
Gallup’s annual report is based on face-to-face and telephone interviews, asking people about their emotions and well-being, including experiences of anger, stress, sadness, and joy.
