SULAIMANI — A witness informed NRT a
gunfight broke out in front of the Iskan police station in Erbil during an
attempt to kidnap two people on Thursday (July 21).
An NRT journalist said initial
reports suggest the alleged perpetrators of the kidnapping attempt were family
members of those they had tried to capture.
The suspects were arrested at 1 pm.
The reporter said two people were injured in the incident and a vehicle was hit
with 20 bullets. Iskan police have not yet issued a statement.
