SULAIMANI — The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said on
Sunday (May 8) the KRG will respond to the Iraqi Oil Ministry next
week regarding the federal court’s ruling on the KRG oil and gas law.
The KRG said Baghdad has prepared a protocol to solve the
oil issues and the KRG will continue their discussion with Baghdad based on the
constitution.
On Saturday, Iraq’s Minister of Oil, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar,
said the federal government would proceed with implementing the federal court’s
ruling from February regarding the Kurdistan Region’s oil and gas law
Abdul-Jabbar said the process of administrating the oil file
should be in partnership between Baghdad and the Region.
The Federal Supreme Court issued a verdict in February that
the KRG’s law on the independent sale of the Region’s oil and natural gas was
against the Iraqi constitution.
