SULAIMANI — Three members of the Iraqi parliament survived an assassination attempt in Baghdad on Monday (April 4) night, a source in the Iraqi capital said.

Unknown gunmen attacked Muhammad Fadel al-Dulaimi from the al-Siyada bloc and Ali al-Saadi and Hussam al-Saadi, both from the Sadrist Movement.

The incident occurred in North Baghdad’s al-Rashidiya area, where the MPs had gone to attend a football match.

Dulaimi posted a photo on his Facebook account of the three MPs at the match, announcing they survived an assassination attempt.

The MP later told al-Sumaria News the reason for the attack was unknown and that the MPs had filed a complaint with the police.
