SULAIMANI — The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced
on Friday (February 25) it will grant entry visas to Ukrainian women married to
Iraqis, as well as their children, and has also revealed the number of Iraqi
students who wish to leave Ukraine.
Ministry Spokesman Ahmed al-Sahhaf said 76 Iraqi
students have reached out so far to ask for repatriation from Ukraine.
He stated the ministry has asked Iraq’s embassies
in Russia, Poland, Hungary and Romania to open hotlines to receive communication
from those who are able to leave Ukraine to provide them with services.
Sahhaf said the Iraqi embassy in Ukraine was
continuing its work to monitor the safety of the estimated 5,500 Iraqis in
Ukraine, including students at 27 universities across the country.
