SULAIMANI — Missiles were fired on Sunday (January 2)
night in the direction of a Turkish military base east of Mosul and the extent
of any damage is still unknown, NRT reporter Taif Goran said.
The missiles were fired from a location less than 15 km
from Zlikan, a base in Bashiqa that hosts Turkish troops.
At least three rockets fell in the vicinity of Zlikan
and no casualties have been reported from the strike.
The NRT reporter stated an investigation is underway
and security teams have seized the vehicle that was carrying the missile
launcher.
Turkey has about 40 military bases or posts in the
Kurdistan Region. A rocket targeted Zlikan base one week ago on December 27 and
similarly, no casualties were reported.
